On behalf of BCGEU and VIU
We are pleased to announce that BCGEU, Local 702 and Vancouver Island University (VIU) have reached a tentative collective agreement for the period of April 1, 2019 - March 31, 2022. The tentative agreement covers approximately 187 BCGEU employees at the university.
The leadership of both BCGEU and VIU want to thank the members of both bargaining teams for their work and commitment in completing this agreement.
We are not able to share details of the agreement at this point as BCGEU and VIU are now entering into their respective ratification processes. The tentative agreement aligns with the provincial government’s Sustainable Services Negotiating Mandate and VIU’s People Plan.
We will share more details with the community once the agreement has been ratified.
