Inclusive Advertising

Diversity in recruitment advertising helps attract more employees from diverse arenas and promotes VIU's culture as a values-based institution committed to advancing equity, celebrating diversity, and practicing inclusion.

The promotion of a job opportunity is managed by the Office of Talent Acquisition (part of Human Resources). 

Job postings are eligible for advertising when the job administrator selects 'advertising' when submitting the posting to HR. Standard advertising of a posting includes Indeed, BC Jobs, LinkedIn, Twitter, and a selection of higher education job sites, such as Academia, HighEdJobs, and Universities Canada.

Important noteHigher education job sites require postings to be advertised for a minimum of four weeks.

Important noteThe requesting department is responsible for the cost of advertising a position on a site or network above the standard advertising.
