Engagement Matters

As part of our ongoing commitment to creating a thriving workplace, and in alignment with the objectives of the 2024-2029 VIU People Plan and our Strategic Plan, People, Place, Potential, VIU conducted the Employee Experience Survey in the Fall of 2024.

The confidential Survey gathers comprehensive feedback on work experience. It assesses various aspects of engagement, satisfaction, and the overall climate at VIU. This survey is an invaluable tool for us to understand our strengths, identify areas for improvement, and ensure our strategies align with our institutional goals. We are committed to using this feedback to enhance our workplace and support managers in developing action plans based on the survey results. You will see that many of the objectives in the 2024-2029 People Plan use the survey results as measures of progress towards our goals.

About the Surveys

We have again partnered with EPSI to conduct the survey. EPSI is a third-party company that specializes in the field of psychometrics, in addition to engagement and organizational surveys. EPSI’s Engagement Model is based on key indexes on leadership, the organization as a whole, employee engagement, employee experience, and organizational performance.
