When you retire, your VIU technology resources such as your computer account, network shares, OneDrive, and VIU email are disabled on your last day.
There are some steps you will need to take if you wish to maintain your email and computer account once you retire:
- close to your retirement date, IT will contact you to see if you desire to continue to use your VIU email/computer account. If you have not received an email from IT within a week of your retirement day, please reach out to the IT Service Desk.
- to maintain security, delete all sensitive work-related information from your computer account, OneDrive, and emails
- public sector retirees are a prime target for phishing and spam -- keep your cyber-safety skills current by frequenting Secure IT.
