VIU and BCGEU Local 702 Started Collective Bargaining
Vancouver Island University (VIU) and the British Columbia General Employees Union (BCGEU) Local 702 have started collective bargaining to negotiate a new collective agreement. The previous collective agreement expired on March 31, 2025.
As is bargaining practice, while negotiations are underway, VIU commits to good-will engagement in the process. When negotiations are complete and a tentative agreement reached, it will be announced to the VIU community.
